  12. Hi, I just set up outgoing uucp from our SGI machine running IRIX 4.0.3.
  13. This seems to work fine for outgoing calls, but I'd like to receive
  14. incoming calls too. So, my question is:
  15. a. Is there a script that automatically edits inittab to do the right thing? 
  16. and reverts it to what it was once its done? Ideally, I'd like the default
  17. mode to be with the getty running ready to receive incoming calls. Then every
  18. hour or so, the  outgoing uucp called from cron turns the getty off, and does
  19. its thing. Right now, I have to manually do this which is a pain.

  21. b. Is there a way to send an initialization string to a modem
  22. device from inittab/gettydefs? (with delays etc.)
