  11. I am experimenting with the SLIP interface on an Indigo. I ran a cable between
  12. the serial ports of two Indigos (4 wire). I am using 38400 baud serial lines.
  13. I will be using 19200 baud serial for the modems. I am running IRIX 4.0.4.

  15. This is to test the functionality of the SLIP interface before I start using
  16. modems  (saves phone charges. I purchased some RJ45 to DIN8 adapters from
  17. Inmac and made a cable using RJ45 connectors.).

  19. How do I cleanly shutdown the SLIPs when I want to disconnect? Will the ttym*
  20. serial device shutdown the gateway SLIP?

  22. How do I use "routed -F ???" ?

  24. Every thing seems to work without an explicit "route add host remote gatway 0"
  25. command... Am I missing something? I can ping the remote from other
  26. workstations on the net.

  28. After about a 1/2 hour, on of the SLIPs will die. Does this have anything to
  29. do with the 38400 baud?
