- I am experimenting with the SLIP interface on an Indigo. I ran a cable between
- the serial ports of two Indigos (4 wire). I am using 38400 baud serial lines.
- I will be using 19200 baud serial for the modems. I am running IRIX 4.0.4.
-
- This is to test the functionality of the SLIP interface before I start using
- modems (saves phone charges. I purchased some RJ45 to DIN8 adapters from
- Inmac and made a cable using RJ45 connectors.).
-
- How do I cleanly shutdown the SLIPs when I want to disconnect? Will the ttym*
- serial device shutdown the gateway SLIP?
-
- How do I use "routed -F ???" ?
-
- Every thing seems to work without an explicit "route add host remote gatway 0"
- command... Am I missing something? I can ping the remote from other
- workstations on the net.
-
- After about a 1/2 hour, on of the SLIPs will die. Does this have anything to
- do with the 38400 baud?
-
- Any other comments?
