- Hi.
-
- Could somebody please help me backing up one of my databases, before
- I set a match to my 4D35 with EXABYTE tape drive.
-
- I have configured (in SYBASE) a tape device with the following parameters:
-
- type "tape"
- name tapedev
- physname "/dev/rmt/tps0d4"
- controller 4 -> sybase won't let me type anything except 4 to 8
- type skip -> to skip label information
- (although I've tried noskip as well)
- size 2000MByte
-
- Everything works as expected when I start the dump.
- That is, the console program pops up and asks me to insert tape 1.
-
- I do this and type OK <return>
-
- When I do this, the exabyte drive light flashes briefly before I get two
- errors in the SYBASE error log.
-
- I am not at the machine now, but the errors are of type "kernel" and they
- claim that invalid parameters were passed to the write function.
-
- Has anyone had this problem? If so, what's the solution?
-
- Thanks...phil
