- Here's what I'd like to do:
-
- I have about 30 PI's on a local net that is bridged to a larger net that
- contains a gateway to the Internet. I'd like to use named to resolve
- the DNS notation names people find (like sgi.com) and also to maintain
- the names for the local net.
-
- I'd like to stay independent of the network I'm bridged to because its
- a hassle to get added to or updated to the name data base (very little
- central management).
-
- Question:
-
- Can I create my own little domain? Say I have a class B net number
- like 135.79. Would I pick on local station to be a master named
- server for this net? How do I give this master priority over other
- named servers that might be on the 135.79 net? Will it interfere
- with other named masters (or slaves)?
-
- Thanks for the Info in Advance
