- Having a problem with fxp0 ethernet interface (efast) on a 4D380s
- running irix4.0.1. Everytime I try to use the fxp0 interface the
- machine crashes. I've had a call open with Nihon Silicon Graphics
- for 2 months.

- Whenever I use efast it crashes with message:
-
- ipi1: fatal error timeout, resetting
- ipi1 registers: C 2 CE D0 0 C7 F9
- Please report the registers to the SGI hotline.
- Controller reset after 240 milliseconds
- ipi1d8: software detected fatal error. c/h/s = 3/1/18 (retrying)
- etc etc etc.....
-
- Someone from SGI told me I have obsolete firmware on one the Xylogics
- controllers. I told NSG that (2 months ago). Could this be causing
- the efast interface not to work ? or is that a seperate problem ?
- Note that the system disk is SCSI unit 1 on controller 0.
