  12. We are a group of 20 users in 3d imageing envoirenment. We plan to buy the
  13. new INDIGO R4000 machines. We would like to use on of the machines as a file 
  14. server. All users home directories will be NFS mounted to other SUN SPARC1s  and
  15. the new INDIGOs. I am concerned about disk I/O performance in such a setup.
  16. (Disk will be 1.2Gb FAST (?) SCSI )

  18. Does any one haave any experience in this type of setup. 
  19. (using INDIGO R3000 or R4000 ) :
  20.    -How well does it perform in terms of NFS activity ?
  21.        (our data files are usally 8-16Mb)
  22.    -Wil there be any problems if we also use the server for normal computation
  23.     and graphic display. ?
