- How about this for an upgrade: get an R4000 Indigo and use your PI as a
- terminal? Considering how much the Indigo R4000 upgrade costs it's doubtful
- that a PI R4000 upgrade would cost less than a complete new Indigo.
-
- When the R3000 Indigo appeared it seemed to me that the relatively small upper
- limit of 96M RAM and the lack of faster graphics options were the most
- important reasons to still consider getting a PI. Now that these reasons have
- fallen away there seems little point in maintaining the PI line. Though a
- larger box with more expansion options would be useful to fill the gap between
- the Crimson and the Indigo, it's hard to see how such a box could be much
- cheaper than a Crimson - what would you leave out?
