  17. I am new to the S.G.I. platform and am interested in learning
  18. some basics. I have not seen an FAQ file posted to this group 
  19. yet. Does one exist? If so, is there an archive site I can
  20. get it from?

  24. The S.G.I. I am working on is not (at this time) on the internet.
  25. This of course, creates havoc with up-downloading data from the
  26. CRAY we are working on. My best-guess solution at this point is
  27. to write (tar) tapes on a SUN (that is on the internet) and
  28. read the tape on the S.G.I. Can someone who has done this please 
  29. e-mail the details? Of course, I am assuming it can be done.

  31. BTW: Both machines use DC6150 600 ft. extra density (150 MB) tapes
  32. and consequently must have cartridge tape drivers to match.

  34. I would appreciate direct e-mail responses. I do not monitor this
  35. group and only need responses to these two explicit questions (at
