- 1.)
-
- I am new to the S.G.I. platform and am interested in learning
- some basics. I have not seen an FAQ file posted to this group
- yet. Does one exist? If so, is there an archive site I can
- get it from?
-
- 2.)
-
- The S.G.I. I am working on is not (at this time) on the internet.
- This of course, creates havoc with up-downloading data from the
- CRAY we are working on. My best-guess solution at this point is
- to write (tar) tapes on a SUN (that is on the internet) and
- read the tape on the S.G.I. Can someone who has done this please
- e-mail the details? Of course, I am assuming it can be done.
-
- BTW: Both machines use DC6150 600 ft. extra density (150 MB) tapes
- and consequently must have cartridge tape drivers to match.
-
- I would appreciate direct e-mail responses. I do not monitor this
- group and only need responses to these two explicit questions (at
- this time.) If requested I will be glad to summarize and post.
-
- THank You,
