  22. You know we really should have an FAQ for comp.sys.sgi (any takers? :-)

  24. There have been several reported problems like this (I reported this problem
  25. myself a while back) and it turned out to be a hardware fault. We got a CPU
  26. board replaced, and viola -- the problem disappeared.

  28. If you are on a multi CPU machine (which I guess you are) try using the 
  29. runon(1) command to see if it crashes only on one CPU. If it does, then
  30. I will bet that CPU (board) needs to be replaced.
