  11. I'm trying to restrict access to filesystems mounted on
  12. an Elan running 4.0.5.  This machine is my primary nameserver
  13. and is connected to the Internet.  I'm not running NIS so
  14. no netgroups.

  16. A basically wide-open /etc/exports similar to this works ok:

  18. /usr/local/sysmgr -root=humbert,lolita #/usr/local separate filesystem
  19. /usr/local/lib/faces -ro
  20. /usr/spool/news            #/usr/spool/news separate filesystem

  22. But if I explicitly name hosts to which I want to export:

  24. /usr/spool/news -access=humbert:lolita
  25.  
  26. (or)
  27.  
  28. /usr/spool/news humbert lolita
  29.  
  30. I can't mount the filesystem on either/any machine.

  32. I've experimented with /etc/exports on a Convex and on
  33. a IRIX 3.3.3 machine and am pretty sure that I know what
  34. I'm doing (I can make it work with them!).
