- Hello:
-
- I have a NeXT with a SEAGATE ST1480 400MB scsi disk. The disk has
- been getting "bread" errors a couple blocks of the disk (for
- example, from /usr/adm/messages:)
-
- Jul 27 13:57:30 arrakis mach: SCSI Block in error = 482444; Partition a F.S. sector 241062
-
- And the machine crashes with SCSI errors ever more frequently.
- Is there a utility I can use to map out the bad blocks on
- this disk? It seems like /usr/etc/disk is the right utility,
- but the "bad" command only seems to work on opticals. Is
- there another utility that will do this, or is my only option
- to replace the disk? Thanks.
