  10. I am having little success connecting a NeXTstation to the net via the
  11. twisted-pair ethernet port.  I have added the IP address of the
  12. machine, the local router and name server to the /etc/hosts file, and
  13. also the appropriate addresses to the /etc/hostconfig file.  However,
  14. I keep getting the message: "network disabled or you're not connected
  15. to it".  (The physical connections seem fine, and I will check out the
  16. cable later.) In its former site the machine was successfully
  17. connected to a Sun network via the thin ethernet connection, though I
  18. cannot tell from consulting the backup copies of the various /etc/rc*
  19. and /etc/host* files what needs to be set for the current network,
  20. except that the local name server does not seem to be identified
  21. anywhere.
