- Hi,
-
- I've been working on getting my single NeXT hooked up into my school's
- network. So far, I have been successful in getting telnet, rlogin, and
- ftp working from between the NeXT and local computers (Suns and Microvaxes).
- I can also send mail from the NeXT to the local computers. However, I
- can not access any computers outside of school (I get a Network unreachable
- message) and I can not send mail to the NeXT (I get an Unknown host error
- message when I send to it.) I have been told (with regards to the mail
- problem) that it might have to do with the I named the machine. It had
- been named just machine.smith.edu, but I was told it was supposed to be
- machine.csc.smith.edu. I changed this /etc/hosts file to the correct name,
- but things still aren't working. I also checked the sendmail.cf file, but
- things seem to be correct there. If any one has any suggestions on how to
- get both email working to the NeXT and how to get the NeXT to be able to
- access outside computers I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
