- I have the following problem getting a two station netinfo
- network going:
-
- This setup works for me:
-
- 1> Turn on netinfo and configuration server in the following
- network configuration:
-
- T----C----T
- |
- |
- N (netinfo server)
-
- T: 50 ohm thin ethernet terminator
- C: ethernet "T" connector
- N: NeXT machine
-
- 2> I then rewire (with the n&c server still on) to get the following configuration
- and power on the second machine:
-
- T----C--------------------------C----T
- | |
- | |
- N N
-
- T: 50 ohm thin ethernet terminator
- C: ethernet "T" connector
- N: NeXT machine
-
-
-
- This works fine, but obviously, I shouldn't have to rewire the thing.
-
- I should be able to use the following configuration, boot up the server,
- then boot up the client:
-
- T----C--------------------------C----T
- | |
- | |
- N (netinfo server) N (netinfo client)
-
- T: 50 ohm thin ethernet terminator
- C: ethernet "T" connector
- N: NeXT machine
-
- However, when I turn on the server, I get a "cannot find parent server" message.
-
- Blecch.
-
- thanks,
- anwar
