- Dear fellow netters,
-
- I tried to mail, but it bounced.. So I'm following up.

- Well, it's really not that difficult. The NeXT always boots
- off the drive with the lowest scsi-id, so all you have to do
- is set the corresponding DIP switches or jumpers so that the
- id of your 1GB disk is lower (I think the default id of the
- internal disks is 2). Set it to zero, that won't cause problems.
-
- Under all circumstances get the documentation for that drive!
- On some drives, if you don't have docu it's simple impossible to
- determine which of the up to 15 jumpers are for setting the id.
- And there are other things you might want to do in the future,
- like setting synchronous SCSI mode, wich is not yet supported
- by NeXT, but may be supported in a future OS system version.
-
- I assume that there already is a boot block and a kernel on that
- drive. If not, you're in trouble, cause you'll loose your data
- when building a bootable disk. See the manuals for details or
- ask Your Friendly NeXT Dealer.
-
- Well, that's all. Change jumper settings and try to boot.
-
- Take care, Chris
