- I have not purchased WP, 'cause they have not offered me their best software.
-
- WP for the NeXT is missing many advanced word processing features that appear
- to be standard features in word processors today. I would have purchased their
- word processor with WP v5.1 features but it was never offered or announced as a
- future NeXT product.
-
- The WP product appears to be going no where on the NeXT. I'd be better off
- buying FrameMaker or some other product than investing my dollars or anyone
- else's dollars into WP for NeXT machines or for mixed machine networks.
- FrameMaker is much more feature rich than WP on the NeXT and runs on a variety
- of machines. Today, I would not recommend WP. It is hard to recommend
- software with no future. Tomorrow...what are my choices?
-
- Word Perfect does have a chance to gain on Microsoft and others in the word
- processing market by having the same word process on all computer platforms.
- Most companys have several different computer systems, if you can buy the same
- word processor on every computer system, then the company will buy the same
- word processor for every computer system for compatibility issues. Microsoft
- has no interest in being platform independent. Look at the platforms currently
- supported. And PC DOS machines are a dead end. Will PC DOS survive the 90's?
- I think not!
-
- I would not be writing here if I did not want WP to be a success. But they
- appear to be missing the boat.
