  21. the interactive renderman engine, as implemented in the 3DKit,
  22. does in fact use the i860 on the NeXTDimension board for
  23. rendering computations.  The implementor says that there is
  24. perhaps an order of magnitude better performance with the i860
  25. than the 040.  I don't know what sort of benchmark was used to
  26. make this comparison.

  28. Has anyone outside of NeXT seen a 3DKit demo on a NeXTdimension
  29. system?  All the demos that I have seen and heard of are done
  30. using the slabs.
