- I have a NeXT attached to our campus network. Elsewhere, there are a bunch
- of IBM PC's running NCSA Telnet PU 2.2TN.6 that you can use to connect
- to many machines on campus, for which they seem to work fine. However,
- when I use them to telnet to my NeXT, I have the following problems:
- (I set the terminal type to vt100.)
-
- 1) Characters you type are not echoed to the screen at login, or
- within mail or write. However, they are echoed at the Unix prompt.
-
- 2) Ctrl-h seems to be captured somewhere, so I can't send a ctrl-h
- to Emacs. Also, when I type enter within Emacs, I got the following
- in the message line: "Symbol's value as variable is void: xxx" where
- xxx is the last thing typed on that line.
-
- As is probably apparent from this note, I'm not too familiar with the
- intricacies of Unix or communications, so any assistance would be
- appreciated.
