- The maximum dimming setting on my NextStation Turbo does not darken the
- screen completely. It leaves the screen much more brighter than in other
- monochrome monitors that I have seen. Since I have the machine on all the
- time, I am concerned that the screen will be affected over time. Is there
- any software that automatically dims the screen completely? (Backspace
- won't work in this case since one has to be logged in for Backspace to
- work). I do not understand why NeXT does not allow turning off the
- power from the monochrome monitors while the computer is on. Is it because
- of some obsessive idea of not having any buttons on the monitors? Being
- able to turn the monitor off would save a lot of power too, since even
- with a dimmed screen the monitor does generate heat.
