  20. I've had problems getting my 44 MB Syquest to work at my NeXT cube for a year  
  21. now - it drove me crazy. After I read this posting I tried booting from the
  22. Optical Disk - It worked. I could use the Syquest drive without problems.

  24. Using exactly the same configuration but booting from the internal Maxtor  
  25. XT-8380S drive locked up the boot process after about 30 seconds.

  27. I was in touch with Syquest about this issue several months ago. I'll
  28. contact them again and tell them that this problem is specific to Maxtor
  29. drives. If they come up with a solution I'll post it.

  31. A word about Syquest: I found their technical support and their service
  32. excellent.
