- You can get a huge performance gain if you have a lot of users
- (I think Apple recommends 10 concurrent users max for personal file sharing).
-
- You can get the reports on disk space usage, create welcome messages, limit concurrent
- application launching, Printserver software is now included, improved security and more!
- You can start using programs like Meeting Maker, KeyServer, and more
- (with the sole exception of QuickMail 2.5.1 or below because it can't run under AS 3.0)
-
- Of course the big drawback is bucks!!! We also use a ci and it is working great!
- We also got a 1.2GByte disk drive and may have to expand this to even more.
- We keep ours dedicated 100% to serving because so many people depend on it.
-
- Suggestion:
-
- Try personal file sharing, and be prepared to spend some money if you
- outgrow it. Depending on how many users you have, you could split the load by
- having more than one machine turn on file sharing.
-
- Good luck!
