- Well yes, I did know that. I think most people know that. But when talks
- products it generally isn't just the shell you talk about. The person
- wanted a shell and I mentioned MPW. Would the C Shell be worth anything
- without the commands like cd, ls, mv, cp etc? I know most people I
- talk to understand this. But then MPW does have numerous commands
- built in to the shell. Nevertheless, unless there is a nice source
- of command files for MPW that is on the net and PD, the above does
- nothing for me. I can't afford to buy MPW with all the compiliers etc
- and convert various Unix commands over. If you can, fine and dandy.
-
- The stuff you stated appears to me to be akin to giving a person a Mac
- with no software and then telling them they can do word processing,
- graphics etc. Until they get the software, the Mac Shell is also
- useless. Actually a better example would be the PC and their various
- utilities that can be added 'just like a Mac.' It is what comes
- standard that I can use that counts.
-
- Personally I don't see what the big deal is, or why all the mail.
