  12. 1. Machine crashes (IIcx, IIfx) with file sharing turned on.
  13. 2. Running System 7.0.1 + Tuneup 1.1.1 - Only Apple inits, cdevs, rdevs.
  14. 3. Zap PRAM, replace System & Finder
  15. 4. Restart - turn on AppleTalk - Restart.
  16. 5. Double-click the "Sharing Setup" cdev to turn sharing back on.
  17. 6. Get a "Stop" dialog stating:
  18.    "The Sharing Setup control panel could not be opened, because the
  19.    Users & Groups Data File in the Preferences folder is bad.  Drag
  20.    that file out of the Preferences folder and restart your computer."
  21. 7. Replace the Users & Groups file with a good copy & restart.
  22. 8. Turn on file sharing & it is good until the next restart.  Badd after
  23.    that until its relaced again.

  25. Has anyone seen this happen?  Got an idea as to the cause.  The fix?
