- 1. Machine crashes (IIcx, IIfx) with file sharing turned on.
- 2. Running System 7.0.1 + Tuneup 1.1.1 - Only Apple inits, cdevs, rdevs.
- 3. Zap PRAM, replace System & Finder
- 4. Restart - turn on AppleTalk - Restart.
- 5. Double-click the "Sharing Setup" cdev to turn sharing back on.
- 6. Get a "Stop" dialog stating:
- "The Sharing Setup control panel could not be opened, because the
- Users & Groups Data File in the Preferences folder is bad. Drag
- that file out of the Preferences folder and restart your computer."
- 7. Replace the Users & Groups file with a good copy & restart.
- 8. Turn on file sharing & it is good until the next restart. Badd after
- that until its relaced again.

- Has anyone seen this happen? Got an idea as to the cause. The fix?

- Many Thanks,
