- I've been idly thinking that the day is rapidly approaching when we'll
- need a GUI for our source code. I have this image in my head of radio
- buttons labelled "MPW" and "THINK_C", and of watching code switch itself
- around, rather than having to look at raw #ifdef's. I have this image
- of classes that look like folder icons, and windows full of methods
- organized by small icon.
-
- I'm not talking about silly programming "languages" where you make a
- flowchart out of icons in a vain attempt to tell the computer what to
- do. I'm talking about grafting a UI onto existing text-based source
- code, and designing text-based languages for such a UI.
-
- Does anyone know of anyplace where people are discussing "user"
- interfaces for people who "use" source code? Any pointers are
- appreciated.
