- All this Think C wishing got me to thinking... it seems that TC, for
- whatever reason, gets new features first; the TCL and global optimizer
- both come to mind.
-
- On the other hand, as a frequent user of both I find TP's user interface
- superior. Herewith are my Top TenThere are some things I'd like to see in the product; perhaps
- Phil can pass them along to the right people :)
-
- 0) Better TCL documentation.
- 1) External tool support, preferably via AppleEvents. Let me use
- BBEdit, AppMaker, or whatever-the-hell-else as additions to the
- TP environment.
- 2) Multi-file grep. As someone else noted, it should have the same
- syntax as TC's grep.
- 3) A global optimizer.
- 4) A window tiling menu that doesn't bring up a dialog box.. maybe
- a picture menu or something.
- 5) Make the project window respond to cmd-W.
- 6) In general, give us more command key accelerators. As bad as
- MS Word is, at least it offers a plethora of function key support
- for the keyboard-abled.
- 7) Let me rearrange the contents of the Lightsbug window. I don't ever
- want to see the heap display, and I hate having to drag borders each
- time to restore my preferred layout.
- 8) Let me "Add File" at a specific point in the project. I guess what
- I'm really asking for is an insertion point in the project window.
- 9) Better TCL documentation.
-
- So, Phil, how about it? (and thanks for making Think Back friendly to
- TP.. makes me wonder how I got along without it!)
