  16. I've just used ResEdit 2.1 to create a resource file for my application.
  17. It has a single BNDL resource with a single file type (APPL) which I 
  18. gave icons.  After rebuilding my Desktop, the application appears with
  19. it's new icon in it's folder, and with it's correct small icon in the 
  20. Apple Menu.  But when I launch the application it's icon is not displayed
  21. correctly on the right-hand side of the menu bar or in the pull-down
  22. menu below.  Instead, I get the generic application icon.

  24. I also just got the shareware program _Launch, and it too cannot seem to 
  25. find my application's new icon.

  27. Any ideas?

  31. P.S.  Why did Apple change the desktop file to a pair of data-only files
  32. in System 7?  I can't use ResEdit anymore to see if my icons are correctly
  33. loaded in the desktop file.
