  14. And sorry for the repost, but I have finally accepted the fact 
  15. that I deleted all of the replies to the following problem, that 
  16. included a good deal of code from some very helpful people.

  36.  -  The machines are not tied together by a network.  We have
  37.     a site that makes the folder, puts it on a removeable, and
  38.     ships it out to the necessary sites.

  40.  -  The solution we are looking at is an application that is
  41.     run the first time the disk is mounted and fixes all of the
  42.     the aliases in the folder. The aliases may or may not have
  43.     a file on the disk (based on the security level of the user).
