- Hiya Macphiles,
- I'm stuck in a fairly knotty problem and have to find a solution fairly
- soon. I _have_ to pick up a new Mac within the next three weeks. These are
- the options that I have:
- 1. IIci CPU 5/80 with extended kbd (no monitor) for about $150.
- 2. 4/80 Powerbook 140 for no charge.
- 3. 4/80 Powerbook 170 for about $600.
-
- Before anyone chokes on the prices, let me explain that this is a form of
- payment for services I rendered. I am in a quandary as to which of the
- above I go for. Can I attach a colour monitor to either of the Powerbooks?
- How does the peak RAM capacity of the Powerbooks compare with the IIci's?
- The IIci is a good machine w.r.t. expansion slots, but the Powerbooks are
- snazzy machines.
-
- I will be in a similar situation again later this December. Since Apple is
- about to release more Powerbooks and a 33MHz IIzi (from Macleak) in
- October, I don't know if taking a PB170 now and a IIzi later is better, or
- taking a IIci now and one of the 33MHz Powerbooks in December makes more
- sense.
-
- HELLLPP!!! Any tips, views, advice will be greatly appreciated.
