- I've started to post my "billion lines describing new files" updates
- to comp.sys.mac.digest now... so if you're looking for them here,
- subscribe to that group and watch for them. You also get the added
- bonus of Sumex "Info-Mac" articles (ha ha ha)!
-
- The sendmail daemon here did wild things with my last posting to
- my "frequent ftp'er" mailing list. It sent the message out
- five times (an annoyance for some, but it costs money for some
- other people). I'm not going to repost to my mailing list until
- I have a system administrator here sitting down with me and watching
- the mail go out. As soon as it starts to bounce/repeat, I'll
- kill the mail. (i.e. I don't want to see any more botched messages).
-
- Want to be on our frequent ftp'er mailing list (if you're not
- on it already, the big benefit of it is that you find out
- about the new files added to mac.archive first, before UseNet
- propogates it slowly into your nntp server) yourself?? Send me mail
- at "mac-recent-request@mac.archive.umich.edu" if you'd like to
- be placed onto it.
-
- Also, do you have something cool you'd like to send to a whole
- bunch of Macintosh archive sites? E-mail binhexed/compressed
- copies to "macgifts@mac.archive.umich.edu". Sumex will get it,
- some sites in Texas, some in Europe and Austrailia too. What
- a fine deal.
-
- And, if you've been on another planet... our regular FTP machine
- is still down. Use "shavenyak.css.itd.umich.edu" for your
- mac.archive ftp'ing fun for now. It doesn't have a working
- "dir" command (use "ls"), but everything else seems to work fine.
-
- hope that's good...
