  12. I am against the creation of an Apple Newton newsgroup >at this time<.  There
  13. are plenty of newsgroups already, and as a UNIX system administrator, I'm
  14. I'm familiar with the pros and cons of creating and managing newsgroups.  As
  15. a PenPoint programmer, I see only about ten articles a week in comp.sys.pen,
  16. not including the RFD articles.  Let's wait until the traffic in comp.sys.pen
  17. grows before hiving off a bunch of groups.

  19. Creating a newsgroup for a "product" that is still vapor is questionable.  In
  20. time, it will become obvious if we need a Newton newsgroup, a PenPoint news-
  21. group, a PenDOS newsgroup, a PenPal newsgroup, a Momenta newsgroup (NOT), and
  22. so on.  Currently, however, Newton is in the same category as the Trilogy
  23. machine and the DEC-ten-again (DECsystem-10/II): neat specs, but not real.
