- I am against the creation of an Apple Newton newsgroup >at this time<. There
- are plenty of newsgroups already, and as a UNIX system administrator, I'm
- I'm familiar with the pros and cons of creating and managing newsgroups. As
- a PenPoint programmer, I see only about ten articles a week in comp.sys.pen,
- not including the RFD articles. Let's wait until the traffic in comp.sys.pen
- grows before hiving off a bunch of groups.
-
- Creating a newsgroup for a "product" that is still vapor is questionable. In
- time, it will become obvious if we need a Newton newsgroup, a PenPoint news-
- group, a PenDOS newsgroup, a PenPal newsgroup, a Momenta newsgroup (NOT), and
- so on. Currently, however, Newton is in the same category as the Trilogy
- machine and the DEC-ten-again (DECsystem-10/II): neat specs, but not real.
-
- This is my opinion, which is mine, which is, as I said my opinion, about the
- dinosaurs, that is my opinion, about them. Thank you.
