  11. Does anyone know the relative merits of checksum vs. CRC for detecting 
  12. error(s) in a block of data? I would like to calculate the probability of 
  13. an undetected error for various block sizes, checksum/CRC word length etc. 
  14. If you know where this type of information can be found, I would 
  15. appreciate hearing from you. I seem to recall reading a Byte article some 
  16. years ago about this subject, but so far, I have not been able to locate 
  17. it.
