  25. My mistake.  An extension called Desktop Reset(tm) was installed on my
  26. machine, and I thought it was the source of the ability to reset the
  27. desktop.  However, if you have checked your hard drive with ResEdit, you
  28. should see that your deleted statement about there being no Desktop file
  29. was incorrect.

  45. You conveniently deleted your original statement that my post was in
  46. response to in which you made absolute statements that mac applications
  47. were all point and click installations and the worst case mac application
  48. installation was a few minutes.  I was giving examples to prove the point
  49. that installation takes just as much time and effort for either machines
  50. in general.  You can always find exceptions for specific software, but
  51. installation of software in general takes just about the same time on
  52. either machine.

  54. This in turn is to point out that time "fiddling" with a PC is not really
  55. a cost factor because in the long run it is insignificant, and just as
  56. much time is spent on "fiddling" with the mac albeit not in the exactly
  57. same ways (different machines after all).
