  13. Are you sure it was *ONLY* the Finder & not also the System,
  14.   specifically the 'cltb' or other color resources?

  22. ResEdit is a very powerful tool that should only be used on
  23. copies of software.  I wouldn't be honest if I claimed to 
  24. follow that rule religiously.  I have used it often enough
  25. to know when I'm treading on unfamiliar ground, and should
  26. make a backup copy of something before I proceed.  Even
  27. then, bad things could happen.  Case in point:  once I was
  28. fooling around with the 'fmnu' resources in the Finder.
  29. I decided to open them with the 'MENU' template.  I then
  30. reverted all changes and quit ResEdit.  Next thing I know,
  31. all my Finder menus are screwed up.  Trashing the corrupted
  32. Finder & replacing from the Installation disks solved that.

  34. You might have to reinstall your whole system.  Next time,
  35. keep the ResEdit locked up.
