- e.g. pay someone to scan the signatures in? In addition the cost
- of the computer and scanner, you would have to pay this person, pay
- a manager for this person, office space, and bene's. All told, it
- would probably cost over $50,000 / year / office.

- Imagine tracing a package: from the terminal, the operator could pop-up
- the signature -- the day after it was signed. The signature may have
- been made in New Hampshire, with the operator being located in Los
- Angelos.
-
- Compare this with a package of forms to get lost, wet, back-ordered,
- etc. Then, assuming that they make it into the office, the would
- have to get transfered to whereever and filed. If there were ever a
- question, someone would have to look through a filing cabinet to retrieve
- them. Instead of being able to see the signature instantly, it would
- probably take several days, and instead of being able to start looking
- them up the day after the signature was made, it would probably take
- at least a week before they were filed.
-
- I would say that the advantages are pretty clear. I would expect
- that the system would pay for itself within 1 year.
