- Well, I guess I'm another nobody. I don't own a PB 100, but if I bought
- a notebook that would be the one. Since I have a IIcx, I don't really
- want a "power user" machine or even a floppy drive. Hell, I'd be happy
- without a hard disk. What I'd like is a CHEAP, SMALL machine primarily
- for word processing, that will let me edit a couple days worth of text
- before uploading to my desktop mac. For me, PRICE is the main consideration.
- $900 is getting into my ballpark. At $500, I'd reach for my credit card :-)
-
- Apple (and other computer manufacturers) don't seem interested in this market,
- and maybe there aren't many others out there like me. But with the
- PB140 4/40 going for $2266 (edu) and the PB170 4/40 at $3248 there's really
- no comparison. I could buy 2 PB100's and have $400 left over for the
- price of the 140. Yeah, I know the screen is nicer it's faster, has a
- floppy drive, etc, but those features just aren't worth $1300 more to me.
-
- For the price of the PB170 I could get a PB100, LCII 4/80, color monitor,
- keyboard and still have a few hundred bucks left over! That's absurd....
-
- Just my opinion....
