- Incorrect asumption.

- Quoting Macweek (07.27.92):
-
- "Apple dropped this month the PowerBook 100 with 4 Mbytes RAM, a 40-Mbyte
- hard drive and external floppy from its retail price list. The configuration
- is now available at the Price Club, the San Diego-based wholesale merchant,
- with a price tag of between $800 and $900."
-
- "Dropped from its retail price list" does not mean *dropped the product*.
- Authorized Apple dealers (Apple's retail outlets) will not normally carry
- it. That is, I believe, the content of that statement.
-
- As mentioned by a number of people on the net, the 100 was presumably
- designed and manufactured (Sony) as a foray into consumer channels.
- I would not be surprised to see the 100 in various consumer channels
- right next to the Newton.
