- This phenomenon is called "Rest Mode" and it is documented in the manual.
- When the PB detects a lack of activity, it turns power to the processor
- on and off.
-
- There are two ways to turn it off :
-
- 1) Option-click on the words "Minutes Until Automatic Sleep" in the
- Battery control panel. A dialog will appear allowing you to turn off
- Rest mode. The dialog also describes rest mode operation.
-
- 2) Get the Rest mode on/off utilities from Compuserve. These small apps
- can be installed in the Apple menu folder. Executing them will turn
- rest mode on or off. (MACSYS forum, library 8, filename PBREST.SIT)

-
- BTW, the manual should be read; at least skimmed. There is a lot of
- good stuff in there.
