  13. I just got rid of a Maxtor 213 MB drive due to questionable performance.  I 
  14. have decided that I would like to replace it with two external 105Mb drives.
  15. I have decided on the Quantum LPS105 mechanism.  The reason for choosing
  16. two drives is more of an effort to save data in case one of the drives fail.
  17. I have noticed that Mirror, LaCie, APS, etc. all box this model of drive.
  18. Can anyone reccommend a brand, and include the price, if possible?
  19. I also have a few questions:

  21. 1) Are external drives slower than internals?
  22. 2) Is the Quantum LPS105 a decent mechanism?
  23. 3) Is it quiet? (this is very important)
  24.  
  25. I need to purchase these drives very soon (less than 36 hours), so any info
  26. would be great.  Mailed replies are much preferred.  Thank you.
