- HP makes two cartridges for the DeskWriter/Jet series of inkjet printers.
- The vanilla DeskWriter just uses the black cartridge; the C uses both.
- I believe you can only use one type per page/print job. The cartridges
- themselves just snap in & out of the carriage mechanism. So to print,
- for example, a 5-page report with a full-page color spread on page 3,

- 1. Snap in the black cartridge & print pp. 1-2.

- 2. Hit the "Cartridge" button on the front panel; flip open the lid
- & snap out the black cartridge. Close the lid.

- 3. Print p. 3.

- 4. Change cartridges again & print pp. 4-5.

- You can get away with printing the entire 5 pages with just the color
- cartridge, but at $35 per, why not conserve?
