  14. I have a problem with a Mac Plus that I hope you folks in Net-Land help 
  15. me with.
  16.  
  17. When I turn the computer on, it makes a buzzing sound, the screen is dark, 
  18. and distorted.  After a few minutes, there is a smell like burning plastic, 
  19. and the screen goes black.  Between the time I turn it on, and the time the 
  20. picture goes out, the system seems to work all right.  The system will boot
  21. off the floppy disk, and the desktop appears.

  23. I understand that the flyback transformer seems the most likely cause of 
  24. my problem, but I would like to know what else must also be replaced.  Does 
  25. the whole analog board need to be replaced?  Is the analog board in the 
  26. Mac Plus the same one that is in a Mac 512k?
  27.  
  28. And finally, where is the best (cheapest) place to get whatever part(s) that 
  29. I need to fix my Mac?
