  14. I have finally received some grant money to up my Mac IIci.
  15. Now I am struggling with the many options available, and I
  16. would appreciate if I could get some advice on this (since
  17. this is a reasonably large investment).

  19. First my objectives:
  20.  
  21. (1) I want to improve the speed of the processor; most of my
  22.     work is running lisp applications.
  23. (2) My highest compatability priority is in being able to
  24.     run A/UX. Any option excluding A/UX is not viable.
  25. (3) Sounds funny, but the price is not that crucial
  26.     (everything here in Japan is phantastically expensive anyways).

  28. As far as I can tell from the local market (and believe me,
  29. that is not easy to find out), my options basically are:
  30.  
  31. (a) Get an apple logic board upgrade to a Quadra 700.
  32. (b) Radius Rocket 25, 25i, 33
  33. (c) Daystar Power Cache 50Mhz
  34.  
  35. I would really appreciate if somebody could point me to the
  36. comparative merits of these choices (here even Apple dealers
  37. cannot tell you what you really get in the IIci->Quadra
  38. upgrade).

  40. Further, I have also seen something called Quadra Overdrive,
  41. by Newer Technology. Does that make any sense in connection
  42. with a Quadra upgrade?
