- Actually, I think everything is replaced except the lid, feet, power supply and
- FDHD drive from the original box.
-
- Here at UNC, the education price for the cx/ci upgrade to the Quadra 700 is
- $2795. This is only $1100 less than it would cost to buy the basic (4mb RAM, no
- hard drive) Quadra new. If you're willing to spend the money for the upgrade,
- you'd probably be better off splurging for the extra $1100 and just buying the
- Quadra outright (I'm obviously ignoring the cost of adding a new monitor, hard
- drive, etc.)
-
- Shreve Systems (a Mac reseller in Louisiana that specializes in used machines,
- 800-227-3971) has been advertising a cx to Quadra upgrade for $2599, and a ci
- to Quadra upgrade for $1999. I don't know how their upgrade differs from the
- official Apple upgrade, but it would seem to be worth investigating, especially
- if you had a ci.
