  12. I'm in the market for a laser printer. I have a Mac Classic and
  13. I usually print memos from Word, slides with some flowchart-type
  14. graphics from MacDrawPro and PageMaker, and some small spreadsheets
  15. from Excel.
  16. I understand the difference between the PostScript printers and
  17. non-PostScript (QuickDraw) printers. I've been told things like
  18. only PS printers will give me high quality output when printing
  19. non-text. Although, I'm willing to spend ~$2000 if necessary, I'd
  20. much prefer to keep it < ~$1500. What printers can give me high
  21. quality output in a reasonable time?
  22. I'd like to get a feel for how slow the non-PS printers are. Is
  23. the Apple LaserWriter LS painfully slow? Is it true that it does
  24. not come with a spooler so I could regain control of the Mac while
  25. printing?
  26. Any comments and suggestions about any laser printers would be
  27. greatly appreciated.
