- The 302 allows a Transparent mode, that is, it can transmit and
- receive without superimposing any extra protocol specific signals.
- The book says this can be used for voice data, transferring other
- protocols, etc. (NOTE: I have never used this mode, I am an SDLC
- kind of guy myself.)
-
- Another option might be for you to develop your own RISC microcode.
- Built into the 302 is a RISC engine that handles all the details of
- SDLC, UART, BISYNC, etc. All you need to do is write your own RISC
- implementation of your protocol. The book says "Microcode for a new
- application or protocol is developed only under special arrangement
- and coordination with Motorola". Give it a try, they might help you.

- I know it may sound impossible, but yes. Once you set up the SCCs,
- the SCC Controller does all the work. The core can go back to work
- doing handstands, and processing digital audio signals that simulate
- whistling, or whatever it is you do.
-
-
- I hope this helps.
