- I was in Akihabara looking for a printer for my Panasonic CF-270,
- and was disappointed to find out that Japanese printers are not
- very compatable.
-
- For one thing, I was told by a salesperson in the big LAOX
- computer store, that the BJ10V was NOT compatable in ASCII mode,
- as Japanese PC's have a different implementation of BS. The
- same was true of almost all printers sold in Japan, and that
- the export models are NOT sold :-(
-
- So I finally settled on a used HP Laserjet IIP for US$598 :-)
- Now if only I can find some cheap third party memory .......
-
- The BJ10 Select was supposed to be ok for ASCII, but they
- wanted 89800-en for it ... too steep for me. The 10v's
- were going for 69800, and I'm not so sure that they are
- any better than the 10e. (guess what the "e" means)
-
- I have a friend who has a BJ10v who can translate the switch
- settings if you would like. Just send me an e-mail.
