  12. We are facing a dilemna which I don't know how to solve. Any help and/or
  13. suggestions you can give will be *greatly* appreciated.

  15. We have a wide range of vendors and models of PC's on campus. Many of them are
  16. older XT class machines which are still in productive use. We are being told by
  17. our main vendor that 1) MFM hard-drives are no longer obtainable, 2) IDE drives
  18. smaller than 40MB are rapidly becoming unobtainable, and 3) they have no
  19. suggestion as to how we can install new and/or replacement hard drives in these
  20. older PC's. We would be perfectly willing to begin installing an IDE 40MB drive
  21. and interface into these older machines, but no one we talk to thinks it can be
  22. done. In these economic times, telling our users to replace the PC when the
  23. hard drive dies is technologically correct but financially unacceptable.

  25. Does anyone have a solution to this problem? I know its considered rude to ask
  26. you to e-mail instead of post, but I can't keep up with news and the NETGURUS
  27. are my only hope. Thanks in advance.
