- Linear mapping is already possible with the Tseng ET4000. It's a smart
- idea. However, let's not make the mistake of FIXING a certain location
- for a single purpose. Let's DEFINE a standard which allows CRT adapter
- memory to be mapped into memory anywhere we wish and make sure software
- does not EXPECT the video memory to be at at say E000000H. This way
- when by year 2000 we are looking at the 4 gigabyte RESTRICTION, we
- won't be bitching about whose idea it was to design something like
- a fixed 128 megabyte video memory allocation.
