  14. I am looking into buying a computer for our lab.  In particular:
  15. 486-33MHz
  16. 4M RAM
  17. 120M Hard drive
  18. 64k Cashe
  19. Two floppies
  20. 2 s, 1 p
  21. SVGA w/o acceleratr chip on card.  1Meg.
  22. DOS 5.0, Windows 3.1 and a mouse.
  23. 101 key keyboard.

  25. I can get this system from either Dell or Gateway 2000 for a somewhat
  26. higher price $ 2350.  Other companies offered me better prices, such
  27. as:

  29. Centrix  $1795
  30. ABS      $1747
  31. Compu.sys $1675
  32. HD Computers $1695
  33.  
  34. These companies are not as well known as the previous ones.  I would
  35. like to know if I am sacrificing quality or service by getting the 
  36. system from the cheaper place.  This system is going to Purdue
  37. University and they are not used to dealing with other than Dell,.. etc.
