- I have Windows 3.1 running on a 386DX-25. Sometimes, I like to run
- more than one DOS program at a time (for example, have Telemate
- dialing in the background while I read messages offline in the
- foreground with XRS). My problem is this: Half of the keystrokes
- that I type into XRS in the foreground bypass XRS and instead, end
- up being processed by Telemate. I especially hate it when the
- keystroke is ESC, SPACE, or ENTER, because those keys disrupt the
- dialing sequence. I figure this has something to do with the way
- Windows handles keyboard input to DOS programs. Lowering
- Telemate's background priority has helped some, but the problem did
- not disappear. Does anyone out there know of a way to force
- Windows to not send any keystrokes to Telemate (or any background
- DOS program, for that matter) when it's not in the foreground? Any
- help will be appreciated!
