- Hi netters!
-
- For about one week I have an (low-cost) Irwin Streamer HW-9982,
- (or maybe sold as Commodore 970 tape drive) in my Noname (Saphir)
- 80386-DX 33MHz, 8MB RAM tower. During installation I had the problem
- that the drive select jumper had to be switched from '1' to '2' which
- seems to be unusual for a PC device. Then with the formatted AccuTrak
- 40MB tape (included in the package) everything worked fine.
- However a formatting of the two additional Fuji DC2120 (60MB) tapes
- seemed to be impossible. Either the servo-writing failed or the
- subsequent formatting. I tried harder by erasing
- (with the EZTAPE software), bulk erasing, retensioning and so on...
- At last I could manage to format one of the two Fuji tapes and only
- had two bad blocks out of about 60 million blocks. I still try
- to format the second one. Is it normal? Has anybody made similar
- experience? What would You recommend?
